The fix for me, was switching from Vulkan to Direct X11 on the Larian screen, before loading BG3 proper. Switching to Direct X11 actually resolved about 60% of my latency issues as well. After the patch, I crash with 100% certainty when trying to load into this area, regardless of the method which results in loading the area. I have tried probably a dozen fixes.
