We had a few hours prior to leaving St Thomas and decided to try Brewer's Bay. Very convenient, clean, soft sand, not crowded and decent areas of foliage to escape the sun when needed. You can snorkel with turtles, see planes and enjoy the view of the St. Thomas airport. The beach is free admission, but bring your own amenities and snorkel gear.The sand was soft and perfect and extended out for over 150ft from the shore. No water shoes needed at this beach. There were rolling waves and not much undertow. There were occasional waves large enough to body surf. I brought my own mask/fins and snorkel and spent close to 2 hours checking out the reef and rocks.

Super easy! Brewers Bay is located on the opposite side of the island from the cruise ship port, but the journey to get there is fantastic and hilly with beautiful views of the ocean. It took around 20 minutes, so not a huge time waster and definitely a lot of fun seeing the landscape.
